Man sentenced to life for murdering wife

A local court has sentenced a man to life imprsionment for murdering his wife for dowry.

District and Session Judge Sant Prakash, held Kanvar Singh guilty of murdering his wife and also imposed a fine of Rs 25000 on him.

The deceased's brother, Shiv Kumar had alleged that 32-year-old Uma was murdered by her husband and in-laws after they pressurised her for dowry.

The court however acquitted the mother-in-law, and two brother-in-laws due to lack of evidence against them.
