Man sentenced to lifer for rape and murder of minor girl

A man was today sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape and murder of a girl two years ago by a court in Bihar's Kishanganj district today.

District and sessions judge Rajeshwar Tiwari passed the order convicting Md. Farooque alias Vinod Yadav after finding him guilty of the rape and murder of a 12 year-old girl.

According to prosecution, Farooque had raped the girl and later murdered her in Dangi basti locality under Town police station area on September 21, 2011.
