A 35-year-old-man, who sexually molested an eight-year-old girl, was arrested and remanded to judicial custody here today, police said.
Allen Christu Das had sexually molested the child at her residence here few days ago. Following a complaint from the kid's mother Sumathi, he was arrested.
"After investigation, we found that Allen Christu Das had sexually molested the child. We have slapped sexual assault charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act besides charges under the IPC," Manjula, Inspector of All Women Police Station, Villivakkam told PTI.
Sumathi has two children whose husband Mahesh died few years ago. She was living with Allen Christu Das.
