Man shot dead by suspected JJMP activists

A 23-year-old man was today shot dead in a broad-day light by suspected activists of ultra outfit Jharkhand Jan-mukti Parishad (JJMP) at Sadhwadih village in Latehar district, police said.

The victim identified as Sanjay Singh, a resident of Panki village, was attacked by the ultras who fired at him from AK-47 rifle, police said.

After killing Singh, the ultras attacked him with an axe, sources said adding that the police has recovered five empty cartridges from the spot.

Following the incident, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Amarnath, Inspector K D Singh and Officer-in-charge of the police station Abhay Shankar rushed to the spot to investigate the incident.
 

As per preliminary investigation, Police said JJMP ultras were involved in the killing.
