Unidentified assailants have gunned down a 25-year-old man here, police said, leading to an unrest by locals.
According to SP City Ombir Singh, Wajid Ali was shot dead last night in Sarvat area when he was on his way home. Police rushed to the spot and a search for the assailants was underway.
Meanwhile, as news of the killing spread, locals started a demonstration with the body of the victim demanding the murderers be booked.
The situation was later defused and the body was sent for postmortem, police said.
