Man shot dead for resisting loot attempt by robbers

One person was allegedly shot dead and two others injured in the firing as they tried to resist a loot attempt by robbers in Mahimapur village here, police said today.

The incident occurred last night when some unidentified persons entered the house of Manna Lal and Ram Lal for looting, they said.

When resisted, the robbers opened fire in which Suraj, Manna Lal and Sanjay were injured, police said, adding the injured were hospitalised where Suraj succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

A case has been lodged and the body has been sent for post mortem, they said.
