A local businessman allegedly committed suicide by hanging after strangling his wife and two children to death at Tiruvanaikovil in the district, police said today.
Viswanathan had suffered loss in business and was frustrated by loan problems.
He had taken the extreme step around midnight yesterday, police said, adding, the bodies have been removed for post-mortem.
