Man wanted by Haryana Police held

A 39-year-old man, wanted by the Haryana Police for his alleged involvement in multiple cases of murder, robbery, extortion and attack on police personnel has been arrested here, the Delhi Police said today.

The Haryana Police had declared a reward of Rs one lakh on his head.

Kaptan alias Praveen is involved in nine cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery, extortion and attack on police personnel, said Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell).

The accused was arrested for a murder case in 2003 and sentenced to life imprisonment, said the officer, adding he was granted bail in 2012.
 

After his release, he demanded his share of money from his business partners--Rajesh, Naresh, Gulab Singh. When they refused, Kaptan along with his associates hatched a conspiracy to eliminate them.

On December 8 last year, the accused along with his seven associates killed Rajesh, Naresh, Gulab Singh, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested Kaptan from GTK Bypass bus stop from outer Delhi yesterday. A sophisticated pistol of .32 bore along with three live cartridges was seized from him, they added.
