Manipur today mourned the sudden passing away of Governor Dr Syed Ahmed at a private hospital at Mumbai yesterday.
In a condolence meeting attended by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, cabinet ministers, MLAs, high Ranging officials let by the Chief secretary and Director General of Police two minutes silence was observed to pay respect to the departed soul.
Later, they paid floral tribute to the photograph of late Syed Ahmed at the conference Hall of the Manipur Secretariat, a government press release said.
Okram Ibobi Singh said he was an eminent political leader who served the country in different capacities.
Singh informed the Minister, Public Health Engineering Department presently in New Delhi went to Mumbai to attend the funeral of late Syed Ahmed.
