Manipur spank Tripura 24-0 in Sub-Junior National hockey

Manipur spanked Tripura 24-0 to register their second consecutive win at the third Hockey India sub-Junior men national championship (East Zone) at Nagaon, Assam today.

Against Tripura today, Mani Huidrom scored as many as seven goals for Manipur in the Pool B match, followed by Bronson Moirangthem (6), R Kumar Ningombam (4), Dhananjoy Moirangthem (3), Ibungo Kunjengbam (2) and R Kumar Heisanam (1).

In another Pool B match, Jharkhand recorded its third consecutive win, defeating hosts Assam 3-0 while Bengal beat Bihar 4-1 and Odisha edged past Mizoram 2-0 in Pool A.

Meanwhile in the women's sub-junior national (East Zone), Reshma Soren scored twice to help Jharkhand tharsh hosts Assam 6-0
 

In a Pool B match later in the day, Odisha beat Manipur 9-0.

Pool A: Bengal 4 (Rohit Barla 8, 15, Nitish Newpane 35 and Biren Kumar Lakra 45) beat Bihar 1 (Ravi Kumar 30) Odisha 2 (Sudhir Kujur 11 and Amit Chirmako 56) beat Mizoram 0.

Pool B: Manipur 24 (Mani Huidrom 3, 9, 36, 38, 54, 58, 63, Bronson Moirangthem 24, 30, 37, 60, 65, 69, Ibungo Kunjengbam 15, 29, R Kumar Ningombam 26, 31, 52, 56, Dhananjoy Moirangthem 27, 33, 39, Own Goal 28 and R Kumar Heisanam 66) beat Tripura 0.

Jharkhand 3 (Sudhir Munda 24, 61 and Soma Bhengra 38) beat Assam 0.

Woemen:

Pool A: Jharkhand 6 (Reshma Soren 6, 39, Divya Dung Dung 13, Betan Dung Dung 33, Sitamani Topno 48 and Own Goal 57) beat Assam 0.

Pool B: Odisha 9 (Anjila Minz 8, 12, 45, Elima Minz 16, 25, Manju Lakra 31, 62 and Priyanka Ekka 35, 60) beat Manipur 0.
