A woman Maoist cadre today surrendered before the police in Odisha's Jajpur district.
She has been identified as Namasi Gundua alias Sasmita, a resident of Gokhata-Dunguri Sahi village under Kalinga Nagar Police station limits in the district.
Sasmita laid down arms before the Superintendent of Police at the district police headquarters at Panikoili this afternoon.

The 18-year-old woman cadre was working under Kalinga Nagar division of the outlawed CPI(Maoist) in the district, the police said.
She was working for the Maoist outfit since 2007, they said adding, Sasmita had been dragged into the organisation with a promise of contended salary and good life.
She had participated in Nagada encounter and Tailangi mines loot incidents in Jajpur district, the police said.
"Several cases related to Maoist violence were pending against her in seven police stations in Keonjhar and Jajpur districts. She decided to return and join the main stream and lead a normal life and finally surrendered," said A K Sahoo, SP, Jajpur.
According to the SP, she would be rehabilitated as per norms of the state government.
