Maoist held with weapon

A Maoist was arrested today

with weapon from a locality under Goh police station area in Bihar's Aurangabad district, a police officer said.

Acting on a tip off, the police held the Maoist, identified as Laxman Yadav, and grilling him recovered a country-made stengun and three rounds of ammunition from Dulapur canal, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ajay Narayan Yadav said.

A self-styled area commander of the CPI(Maoist), Yadav was wanted in connection with an ambush on a Special Auxillary Force (SAP) unit last year and murder of a Ranvir Sena ultra Sushil Pande, he said.

The Maoist hailed from Khaira village under Konch police station area in neighbouring Gaya district, the DSP said.
