The Unified CPN-Maoist today imposed a shutdown in Kathmandu and other major cities of Nepal to protest the arrest of a party cadre accused of murdering a teenage schoolboy.
Though the party had called a day-long general strike, it was forced to cut short the protest after people began defying the bandh.
The bandh was called after the arrest of the UCPN-Maoist cadre was arrested from Kathmandu yesterday in connection with the 2004 murder of 16-year-old Krishna Prasad Adhikari.
