Married woman gang-raped

A married woman was allegedly gang-raped at a forest area in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district today, police said.

The alleged incident occurred in early hours when the woman, along with her husband, was going to Bhongir town, when a group of five persons pulled her into a auto-rickshaw and took her to Narapally forest where they sexually assaulted her, they said.

"The victim in her complaint has alleged that five unknown persons raped her. We have booked a case under relevant sections of IPC in connection with the incident. The victim, who is aged around 22, has been sent to a hospital for medical examination and hunt is on to nab the accused," said Assistant Commissioner of Police (Malkajgiri division) Ch Chennaiah.
