Married woman hangs self in parents home

A 45-year-old married woman allegedly hanged herself from the ceiling fan at her parents' home in central Delhi's Hauz Qazi area today in a suspected case of dowry harassment, police said.

However, no suicide note has been recovered from the spot, said a senior police officer.

The deceased, identified as Sadia, lived with her husband, Abdul, and his family at Meerut. She had come to her parents' home last week. Sadia got married to Abdul around three years ago and they did not have any children, said the officer.

She allegedly hanged herself with a stole from a ceiling fan today. The matter was reported to the police by her relatives, said a police officer.
 

Police has started investigation, the officer added.
