In a respite from hot weather conditions, maximum temperatures in Punjab and Haryana today hovered several notches below normal in both the states.
Several parts of Haryana also witnessed light to moderate rains with Bhiwani recording 11.2 mm rainfall, Hisar 52.4 mm, Karnal 38.6 mm and Narnaul 52mm, a MeT department report said.
Union Territory Chandigarh registered maximum temperature of 32.8 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar settled at 32.7 degrees Celsius, four degrees below normal while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum at 33.2 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius respectively.
The maximum temperature in Ambala was 32.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.
Among other places in Haryana, Narnaul settled at 25.9 degrees Celsius, down by 12 degrees below normal while Bhiwani, Hisar and Karnal recorded their maximums at 31 degrees Celsius, 32 degrees Celsius, 31 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius respectively.
The weather department predicted heavy rains at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in next 24 hours.
