Max temperatures slightly above normal levels in Pb, Hry

Maximum temperatures today were slightly above normal levels in most parts of Punjab and Haryana.

Chandigarh, the joint capital of both states, recorded a maximum temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius, according to a meteorological department report.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 36.4 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded a maximum temperature of 35.4 and 35.6 degrees Celsius respectively.

In Haryana's Ambala, Bhiwani, Hisar, Karnal and Narnaul, the maximum temperature settled at 35.3, 37.6, 38.5, 33.8 and 35.5 degrees Celsius respectively.

The Met department has forecast rain or thundershowers at few places in Punjab and Haryana over the next two days.
