The maximum temperature across Punjab and Haryana today hovered close to normal, two days after many places in the region were lashed by rains.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 37.8 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, Ambala's maximum of 37.2 degrees Celsius settled a notch below normal, the MeT Department weather report said here.

Karnal recorded a high of 37 degrees Celsius, down one notch against normal while Hisar's maximum settled at 40.2 degrees Celsius, also one below normal.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 37.5 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal limits.
Ludhiana's maximum of 38.6 degrees Celsius also settled a notch below normal while Patiala registered a high of 37.4 degrees Celsius, down two notches.
According to the MeT Department forecast valid over the next two days, rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab.
