The maximum temperatures today continued to hover a few notches above the normal at most places in Punjab and Haryana.
Chandigarh had a sultry day at 35.1 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal, the MeT office said.
Ambala in Haryana recorded a high of 34.7 degrees C, up two notches while Hisar had a hot day at 37.5 degrees C, three notches above the normal. Bhiwani registered a high of 36.8 degrees C.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 34.6 degrees C, one notch above the normal. Ludhiana's maximum settled at 34 degrees C while Patiala recorded a high of 35.1 degrees C, two notches above the normal, it said.
