Electoral officials and police today foiled attempts, reportedly by ruling AIADMK workers, to bribe voters at two places in the district.

On a tip-off that money was being distributed among villagers, police rushed to Pogalur near Annur, about 30 km from here.

But on seeing the police team, the party workers fled the spot, police said.

Similarly, some workers allegedly belonging to AIADMK, were distributing Rs 300 per vote in an estate in Valparai.

However, they took to their heels on seeing election officials approaching them, police said.
