MCD polls counting day faces 'minor' server issues

Press Trust of India New Delhi
The vote counting process for the MCD polls were today intermittently affected due to computer server issues, leading to delay in arriving at the final tally.

Three screens were set up at the Delhi State Election Commission premises, which were displaying results, based on the feed received from the servers.

However, intermittently due to the server issues, the screens blanked out. The problem was faced more in the first few hours after the counting began at 8 AM.

An official at the Election Commission, however, said it was a "minor" issue and that there was nothing to "worry" about.

On the day of polling also, the final tally of votes arrived close to midnight, due to delay in sending data to the headquarters from the polling stations.
