Medium sugar declines on subdued demand

Medium sugar prices declined at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to subdued offtake from stockists as well as poor upcountry demand.

Small sugar ended stable in the absence of buying support.

Medium sugar (M-30) moved down by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 3,096/3,272 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,102/3,272.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,962/3,105 (Rs 2,962/3,105).

Medium sugar(M-30) quality: Rs 3,096/3,272 (Rs 3,102/3,272).
