Medium sugar eases on weak demand

Medium sugar prices eased further at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to poor stockists selling amidst weak demand from retailers.

Meanwhile, Small sugar prices ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

Medium sugar (M-30) edged down by Rs 2 per quintal to Rs 3,160/3,311 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,162/3,311.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,040/3,132 (Rs 3,040/3,132).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,160/3,311 (Rs 3,162/3,311).
