Medium sugar falls on subdued demand

Medium sugar (M-30) fell further at the Vashi wholesale market today due to subdued demand from stockists and retailers.

Small sugar (S-30) ruled stable in the absence of any major buying.

Medium sugar (M-30) dropped by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,696/3,832 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 3,696/3,842.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,616/3,692 (Rs 3,616/3,692).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,696/3,832 (Rs 3,696/3,842).
