In a major reshuffle in the party, the Meghalaya unit of the BJP today removed its long time General Secretary Dipayan Chakraborty from his post and appointed two others in his place even as 48 others were inducted as executive members.

In a list released today, David Kharsati and Pramod Koch were given charges as general secretaries while Edmund Sangma and D D Sohphoh were made national council members by the newly appointed party president.

The party president has also appointed five vice presidents and five secretaries.

While Egenstar Kurkalang retained the Yuva Morcha president post, Fairly B Kharrngi was made Kisan Morcha president and Rocky R Marak as Kisan Morcha general secretary.

The reshuffle within the party is significant in view of the BJP gearing up for the 2018 assembly elections in the state.
