Meghalaya Govt announces GHADC polls on October 12

The Meghalaya government today announced elections to 29 constituencies in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), one of the three autonomous councils for the tribals in the state.

In a notification issued today, the District Council Affairs department released the approval of holding elections to all constituencies in the GHADC.

The last date for filing of nominations is September 21, scrutiny will be held on the same day after 3 PM.

The last date for withdrawal of nominations is September 24 and the finalisation and publication of valid nomination papers and allocation of symbols will be held on September 26.
 

The polling will be held from 7 AM to 4 PM on October 12, while the date of counting is October 15.
