Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today greeted people of the state on the occasion of Diwali.
The chief minister hoped the festival of lights, as Diwali is popularly known, would bring everlasting happiness and peace to the people of the state, an official spokesman said.
She said the state is proud that its residents celebrate the festivals of every religion and community with equal joy and enthusiasm.
Mehbooba prayed for prosperity and well being of the people on the occasion, the spokesman said.
Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and other ministers in the government also extended Diwali greetings to the people.
