Mehbooba inaugurates three key projects in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today inaugurated three major projects here including a guest house, a multi-level parking facility and a student hostel.

Mehbooba is on a two-day visit to the winter capital.

She inaugurated the new building of 'Kisan Ghar', a guest house intended to serve members of farming community at Narwal fruit mandi, an official spokesman said here.

The state-of-the-art guest house facility has been built at a cost of Rs 5.41 crore over a period of two years, he said.

It may be recalled that former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had laid the foundation of this guest house on June 21, 2015 with the aim of providing a convenient stay to members of farming community during their visit to the city.
 

Interacting with the representatives of farming community, the chief minister assured them that the facility would meet their long pendingdemand.

The chief minister also visited Super Bazaar in old city and inaugurated a multi-level car parking facility.

The parking lot, built at a cost of Rs 33.11 crore, will have a capacity to accommodate 352 four-wheelers, 162 two-wheelers, much to the respite of citizens from traffic congestion in old city of Jammu, an official spokesman said.

She also inaugurated Mufti Muhammad Sayeedstudent's hostel built by Auqaf Islamia Jammu for the stay of beneficiary students, the spokesman said.

The hostel would provide accommodation to 100 students. Built at a cost of Rs six crore, the hostel would also have additional facilities of parking and catering, he added.
