Mentha oil prices were up 0.42 per cent to Rs 1,015.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions following uptick in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March rose by Rs 4.20, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 1,015.70 per kg in business turnover of 11 lots.
In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in February contracts was trading higher by Rs 1.90, or 0.19 per cent to Rs 1,005 per kg in 97 lots.
Analysts said that traders created fresh positions due to upsurge in demand from consuming industries in the spot markets against restricted supplies from Chandausi attributed the rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
