Merck Q3 profit declines 52.91% to Rs 9.44 crore

Pharmaceutical company Merck Ltd today reported a 52.91 per cent decline in its net profit at Rs 9.44 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2013, due to higher expenses.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 20.05 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

Net sales during the quarter under review increased to Rs 194.20 crore as against Rs 161.17 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the company said in a BSE filing.

Overall expenses during the quarter increased to Rs 189.87 crore as compared with Rs 144.62 crore in the same period a year ago.
