Despite rains and thundershowers in parts of Uttar Pradesh, temperatures failed to drop as mercury touched 42.5 degrees in Agra, the highest in the state.
According to MET department, temperatures rose in Varanasi and Allahabad while it remain unchanged in other divisions.
The mercury remained below normal in Gorakhpur, Faizabad, Bareilly, Kanpur and Meerut, whereas the highest temperature was recorded in Agra (42.5 degrees).
