Filmmaker Michael Bay has signed on for a new Paramount Pictures adventure thriller.
The 'Transformers' director will produce and potentially direct the unnamed project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Tom Wheeler and Robbie Thompson are writing the script for the "real science adventure thriller with an undersea component".

Bay's Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form will also produce the film.
The director's most recent project, 'Transformers: Age of Extinction', will arrive in June.
Platinum Dunes has also been working on 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', 'Welcome to Yesterday', 'Purge: Anarchy' and 'Ouija'.
