Militant hideout busted in JK, big haul of arms seized

Army today said it had busted a militant hideout in Kupwara district of north Kashmir and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in the process.

"Based on a specific input from a unit source, a search operation was launched in the early hours today in Halmatpura, which resulted in the recovery of a huge cache of arms, ammunition and war-like stores," a defence spokesperson said.

Among the arms and ammunitions recovered was one AK-47 rifle with four magazines, 523 rounds of AK ammunition, one UBGL with eight grenades, one AK-47 silencer, one RPG, three RPG bombs and eight RPG boosters, he added.
 

Also seized were 312 rounds of 7.62mm Pikka machine gun ammunition, two RDX sticks, seven detonators, four Chinese grenades, three pistols with five magazines, one binocular and two radio sets, the spokesperson said.
