Militant killed in Assam
A hardcore NDFB(S) militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Kokrajhar district along the Indo-Bhutan border today.
A joint team of police and army launched an operation at Ashraobari and an encounter followed in which a hardcore militant was killed, Kokrajhar Superintendent of police Rajen Singh said.
The slain NDFB(S) militant was identified as Ratan Narzary.
Police also recovered an AK-56 rifle, a magazine with eleven rounds of ammunitions and two mobile handsets from the spot, Singh added.
