Rise in minimum temperature brought respite from cold weather conditions in Punjab and Haryana.
In Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, the minimum temperature was recorded four degrees above normal at 13.8 degrees Celsius, the MeT department said here.
In Haryana, minimum temperature at Ambala was recorded at 13.8 deg C, five degrees above normal for this time of the year.

Karnal recorded a low of 13.4 deg C, up three notches than normal while at Bhiwani the minimum temperature was 13 deg C. Hisar registered a low of 13.5 deg C, which was also three degrees more than normal level.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a low of 9 deg C, two notches above normal.
Patiala registered a minimum of 14.4 deg C, five degrees above normal while at Ludhiana the minimum temperature was 14.2 deg C, up by five degrees from the normal.
With maximum temperatures rising in the two states during the past few days, yesterday's high settled in the range of 25-28 degrees Celsius at most places.
According to MeT forecast, the two states would witness mainly sunny days in next few days.
