State health minister Chandrima Bhattacharjee today put an emphasis on organising more health awareness camps across the state.
Speaking at a heart health and breast cancer awareness camp organised by the Press Club here, the minister said that awareness among common people would help an early detection of the illness and proper treatment of it.
Bhattacharjee also pointed out that awareness among journalists would help in educating common people about the cancer through mass media.

Speaking at the seminar breast cancer specialist Dr Tapati Sen said that breast cancer cases have surged 100 times in the last decade.
She advised that though breast cancer is not life threatening if diagnosed early, women above 20 should be vigilant about it.
