Tamil Nadu Cooperatives Minister Sellur K Raju today visited flood affected areas in Sholavandan in the district and instructed the PWD officials to remove garbage in Madakulam Kanmoi, one of the largest tanks in the state.
The minister also directed the officials to widen the Thuvariman-Kochadai road.
He assured the farmers at Nachikulam that he would arrange for the compensation for the loss suffered by them due to floods.
Meanwhile, District Collector L Subramanian had issued a flood warning notice for those residing on the banks of the Vaigai river.
