Plucking mangoes from an orchard proved fatal for a minor boy in Khatahedi area here as the 12-year-old was allegedly beaten by the orchard owner, following which he died at a hospital later.
The incident took place two days ago when Gulbahar was thrashed badly by owner of the orchard Furkan for plucking some mangoes.
The boy was admitted to a hospital and succumbed to his injuries today. Infuriated by the death of Gulbahar, his family members thrashed Furkan and set his orchard and a tractor on fire.
Police controlled the mob and arrested Furkan who was held responsible for the boy's death by family members. Further investigation in the case in underway.
