Minor drowned in Gomti river in Amethi

A 12-year-old boy drowned and two persons were missing when their boat capsized at Kudwa ghat in the Gomti river here, police said Friday.

Eight people were on the boat when the accident occurred, they said.

Five were rescued by police but two went missing, they said, adding a minor boy, Shafik, died in the incident.

Top administrative and police officials visited the spot and directed the subordinates for further investigation.
