One minor girl died, while three other school students including a girl, are feared drowned when they were taking bath in the Paika river near Palasudha village in Kendrapara district today.

While the body Safia Biwi (11) has been fished out from the swirling river, three others are still missing, police said, adding chances of survival of the others are remote because of the strong current of the river waters.

The victims were students of a government-run primary school in Palasudha village.

The three others feared drowned are Arfin Biwi (10), Mukim Baksh (9) and Ijaj Khan, police said.
