Minor girl found dead in orchard

Body of an 8-year-old girl with her throat slit was today recovered from an orchard in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

The girl had gone missing yesterday from her house in Lisar Dangiwachi area of Sopore, SP Imtiyaz Hussain said.

A knife, suspected to be used in the crime, was also recovered from the spot, he added.

"We have sent the body for postmortem to establish the cause of death. Although apparently there are no signs of sexual violence, the postmortem report, however, will bring out the truth," Hussain said.
