Minor girl raped by shopkeeper

A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a shopkeeper at Tandera village under Kakroli police station in the district, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday when the accused Tony (30) lured the girl to a nearby field on the pretext of giving sweets and then allegedly raped her, they said.

The victim, found in the fields, was rushed to a district hospital, from where she was later referred to a Meerut hospital.

A case has been registered against the absconding accused and police is on the lookout to nab him, they said.
