Minor girl raped by youth in Andhra

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in Medak district of Andhra Pradesh today, police said.

The incident occurred in Surampally village when the girl was on her way to a farm, they said.

Oggu Illaiah allegedly dragged the girl to nearby bushes and raped her, a police official said based on a complaint lodged by the victim's parents.

The victim was sent to a government hospital for medical tests, the official said.

A case of rape has been registered against Illaiah and hunt is on to trace him, police said.
