Minor raped in Tamil Nadu

An eight-year-old minor girl was

allegedly raped by a 62-year-old man here, police said today.

The accused, identified as Mani, allegedly raped the girl last night, they said, adding, the girl was his neighbour.

He has been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 and under IPC section 376 (punishment for rape), police said.

He was arrested and remanded to judicial custody today, they said.
