R N Mishra has been appointed as the
Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN), a 'mini Nav Ratna' of the Central Government public sector undertaking.
Mishra was earlier holding the post of Director (Civil) of SJVN.
The post of CMD had fallen vacant due to superannuation of R P Singh on December 31, 2014.
Mishra has about 35 years experience in power sector, varying from Planning, Project Appraisal, Environmental issues related to Hydro Power Projects, Project Monitoring, Contract Management and Execution of Large Hydro Power Projects.
Misra passed his Bachelors of Engineering in Civil discipline from MNNIT, Allahabad and MTech from IIT Delhi. He also holds a degree in Management from Indira Gandhi Open University.
