Mittal appointed Member (Staff) of Railway Board

General Manager of South Western Railway A K Mittal was today appointed as Member (Staff), Railway Board.

The post was lying vacant since May 4 after the arrest of Mittal's predecessor Mahesh kumar in an alleged cash-for-job scam in railways. Kumar was released on bail later.

Member (Engineering) Subodh Jain was holding additional responsibility of Member (Staff) till now.

Mittal has held various important posts in railways including Divisional Railway Manager of Izzatnagar Division in North Eastern Railway and Controller of Stores in South Central Railway. He has undergone training in the US and France.
