Mizoram will draw additional power from Tripura

Mizoram would draw additional power from neighbouring Tripura from today which would continue till January 2, 2015, Superintending Engineer of the Mizoram State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) Vanlalrema said.
Vanlalrema told PTI that while Mizoram used to share its power quota with Tripura during Durga Puja, Tripura shared its power quota with Mizoram during Christmas and New Year festivities.
He said that the additional power from Tripura would be drawn from 3 PM and 12 midnight everyday for 13 days at an average of 14 MW per day.
He expressed the hope that with the additional power supply from Tripura, the Christian-dominated state would have sufficient power during its most important festival.
