MLA, 3 others injured in accident

An MLA and three others were injured today when the car they were travelling in hit a dumper coming from the other side on NH-5 at Uluberia in Howrah district.

The police said the MLA of Potashpur, Jyotirmoy Kar, and three other passengers of the car were injured in the accident.

They were rushed to a local hospital and were later shifted to a hospital in Kolkata.

The driver of the dumper absconded and the vehicle was impounded, the police said.
