No casualties were reported after a 5.6-magnitude earthquake jolted the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region at 7:30 am today.
The epicentre was located at a depth of 10 km near Qiemo county of Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, the China Earthquake Networks Centre said.
No casualties were reported by the local government so far, state-run Xinhua news agency said.
Three shallow earthquakes measuring around 5.0 magnitude jolted the Chinese city of Songyuan in northeast Jilin Province yesterday causing some minor damage.
