Union Minister for Minority Affairs K Rahman Khan today called upon Jharkhand to prepare schemes and send them to the Centre for funds to equip Madrasas with modern technology.

Modern technology would help Madrasas provide quality education, he said at a meeting at Raj Bhavan for reviewing programmes for the minority communities.

Khan said the Centre was ready with financial assistance to equip Madrasas with such technology, hostels and addressing other issues, adding that it was necessary to prepare schemes and send them to the ministry as early as possible.

He said there was no dearth of funds for the development of minorities, for whom many schemes were earmarked and the state government should utilise Central funds to this effect.

Advocating the setting up of an Urdu Academy in the state, Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmed asked officials to work with commitment for the welfare of the minority communities.
